In the age of social media you might be inclined to think that email marketing has had its day.
But the reality is far from it.
Email marketing is still a very effective (and inexpensive) marketing tool and is likely to continue to be so.
The key things to consider are:
- 3 billion people use email for work related purposes, more than any social media
- It's still dirt cheap, so ROI is easy to achieve
- It's great for creating cross-channel engagement
However, it's important to use it wisely and not stuff your contacts' inbox with irrelevant and useless rubbish. You'll quickly lose fans if you do.
